In My Mailbox: Sunday October 2

It's supposed to be another gorgeous (but chilly!) autumn day here in Michigan, but even better than that, it's a Sunday that I don't have to work AND it's time for another week of The Story Siren's excellent meme: In My Mailbox!

Okay, you guys, I went just a little insane over books this week.  On the plus side, I sold about $60 of books to the local independent bookstore so I was able to justify buying, um, six hardcover books this week. Three are from Amazon and three are from the bookstore so it's not that horrible, but still.  I work at a library!  I should be able to wait a few weeks or months to read these!

Books bought:
Heist Society by Ally Carter
The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson

Kindle Books bought:
Falling in Love with English Boys by Melissa Jensen
Dirty Blood by Heather Hildenbrand
Confessions of a Call Center Gal by Lisa Lim
Daimon: A Prequel to Half-Blood by Jennifer Armentrout
Half-Blood by Jennifer Armentrout

Library Books borrowed:
Little Blog on the Prairie by Cathleen Davitt Bell
The Earth, my Butt, and Other Big, Round Things by Carolyn Mackler
Beautiful Americans by Lucy Silag
Wanderlust by Lucy Silag
Dreaming Anastasia by Joy Preble
Arc of Justice: A Saga of Race, Civil Rights, and Murder in the Jazz Age by Kevin Boyle

                                   NetGalley Books:
The Dressmaker by Kate Alcott
It's a Wonderful Life by Jesse Goossens
Touch of Power by Maria V Snyder
The Warrior Heir by Cinda Williams Chima
DancerGirl by Carol M Tanzman

So many books.  Not that I regret any of them.  It's really a good thing there aren't as many books coming out in October that I really have to have...

What did you guys all get this week?  Link me to your IMMs in the comments so I can see!

  1. Oh, wow. That stack of books in your top photo look droolworthy. Sometimes I wish I'd just go mad and buy every book I have my eye on. It must feel so satisfying. Although I actually have bought Heist Society, Daughter of Smoke and Bone and The Name of the Star in the last couple of weeks, buying them one by one is not nearly as exciting as buying them all in one swoop. And The Girl of Fire and Thorns and The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer are books I'm still pining for.

I'm also glad to see someone with Falling in Love with English Boys. I've been wanting to read it for a long time; it looks really cute.

  2. It's a sad fact that even with that gorgeous stack there still are books I really want! *facepalm* It was awesome though and totally something I shall not be doing often. :D

I think Falling in Love with English Boys looks adorable! I like that intertwining past/present narrative thing.

  9. Great stuff! I hear ya about working at a library and still wanting to buy books. It seems I buy more books now that I work in a library than I ever did before! Still, sometimes the wait is so horrible! It helps that I'm on hold for a bunch of stuff (Lola, the Name of the Star, and Mara Dyer included), so at least I know I'll DEFINITELY be reading it sometime!
